Origin
Badi Elaichi or Black Cardamom is a popular Indian spice belonging to the ginger family. It comes in the form of dark brown or black pods with hard, dried skin with small dark-colored seeds inside. It is mainly grown in India, Bhutan and Nepal, with more than half of its world’s produce harvested in India.
Flavour Profile
Badi Elaichi has a strong and pungent aroma with a smokey flavour that comes from how it is dried. It also has notes of mint which balances the otherwise sharp taste.
