Mangodi or Moong Dal Vadi is a sun dried condiment made from lentils in North and Western India, particularly Rajasthan, during the summers. Punjabi Urad dal Badi (or simply Punjabi badi) is bigger with split or whole black gram ground coarsely with salt and spices , and then the dumplings are dried to be used during the rest of the year. Both these vadis are sun dried, deep fried (in batches, whenever being used) and add to Kadhi (buttermilk stew) or made into curries with spinach or potatoes, so Palak Mangodi kadhi or Mango Alu Sabji are very popular dishes made with these Mangodi fritters
